Our scout sponsorship programme supports the men and women behind the operations of the Community Rhino Conservation Initiative.

 

Once your donation has been received you’ll find out who your sponsored scout is with and a little bit more about them!

Keeping the scout fit:

The unit does intense physical training, including running, weight training and boxing​

​

Apparel: $70 per year

Includes shorts, tshirts, trainers.

​​

​

Helping the scout look the part:

Cobras spend long hours patrolling around Hwange National Park. They need to be recognisable and in uniform at all times to ensure they can carry out their duties.

​

Uniform: $285 per year

Includes long sleeve shirt, heavy duty trousers, fleece, overalls, boots, waterproof jackets, caps

Providing the scout with food:

Feeding one scout for a month: $120

 

​

​

Providing the scout with a livelihood:

Employing one scout for a month: $550

Helping the scout feel safe:

Working in the bush is dangerous, especially with wild animals and poachers around.

​

Medical insurance and equipment: $450 per scout per year

​

 

​

Ensuring the scout is equipped:

Cobras need to be comfortable and have the required tools to act fast in the bush.

​

Kit: $300 per year

Includes truncheon, hand cuffs, multi tool, torch, backpacks, water bottles, binoculars, watch, knife

Encouraging the scout to have fun:

A football, volleyball or game: $15

Study and bush guiding books: $30
